Well my Costa Rican Zebra is on his way out as the gf is deathly afraid of spiders. Even though for the longest she didn't know I even had him once she found out she can't even sleep over now knowing he is in the house! He's grown very inactive now anyway and I rarely see him so I'm taking him to the pet store sometime this week.
I will be replacing him with a small lizard and was looking for some advice on a fairly active one that stays pretty small. He'll be going into the soon to be vacant 10g. Any suggestions?

Well...my Panther Gecko is small and can be very active at times. He is smaller. I would say Leopard Gecko but since they are nocturnal they are not very active during the day. You could go with Anoles. They are pretty high strung and stay pretty small.

I'd go with some sort of ground gecko as well. Most become pretty active when you feed them. Not too many active lizard species will thrive in a tank as small as a 10 gallon.

I saw some anoles at petsmart and they looked pretty interesting but I'm always leary of buying livestock from them. I've never kept reptiles before so if I like these guys upgrading will not be a problem. I've been banned from adding anymore aquariums in the house but upgrading an existing terrarium was never mentioned.

One thing you have to keep in mind with Anoles of any species is that they are territorial and need a lot more space then what pet stores provide them with or tell you. I hate going to places like Petsmart and seeing 3 dozen anoles shoved inside a 10 gallon tank. I kept a breeding group of 1.3 green anoles in a 55 gallon tank for some time.

a pictus gecko would do well...or like some one else said, a male kenyan sand boa.

Really like the look of these pictus geckos. I'll check and see if any local shops have them. Thanks guys!
