Got a 3 inch ornate yesterday. Wondering if anyone has had any type of schooling fish that can live with them? Looking for ideas

I have a Red tail barracuda right now and I want to put something with him and I don't know what. Does anyone have suggestions on what can go with those guys. they are agressive

Hi new to the site.
I currently have one 8 inch ornate, had him for just over a year and started in a 5g on bloodworms.
i do not know of any schooling fish as my ornate has gone through schools of tetras,
ate a couple catfish, and a few small cichlids growing up. Too say the least i wouldnt change anything as i love the little guy. Somethings he has grown up with over the year are, many larger cichlids including oscars, jaguar mide you she was very mild, blood parrots, almost anything he cant fit in his mouth.Currently have him with my little mp flowerhorn, a blood parrot, a tiger and marble pleco, one synadotis catfish "dont think thats right", and a stripped rapheal catfish. No problems expet a little aggresion from the flowerhorn and blood parrot but nothing serious as his skin is too thick to bug him.

Welcome to MFK FishFrenzy :). Make sure they don't pick on your Ornate too much could cause stress.

I have a school of rainbows now. Earlier, I had giant danios. Both schools seemed to do OK with polys under 12".

What is the size of the tank where the bichir is housed? You can add any tankmate provided that the tankmate is not aggressive, will not fit in the bichirs mouth and will not suck their slime coat. Pleco's are a big no no.
