little polys behavior

Hello everyone. I am new to Polys. Right now I have a 55gal full of Polys. I am waiting (hopefully in the next two weeks) to get my 180 up and running. They all seem to be fine with the exception of the little ones. I have around 5-6 4"ers that seem to hang out around the surface of the tank. They wedge themselves between airlines or heater and just kinda hang out. They are active but prefer it up there. Now the bottom of the tank is full of 10+"ers. Unusual behavior or normal?

They're fine.
My poly still does that and he's around 10" now.

I know the current situation is not ideal but trust me when I say it really is only short term. Hopefully I will be lucky and have no mishaps.

its completely fine, mine is on top of the water half the day, it also dives down and hits the datnoid and runs away. kinda cute and funny in a way. haha
