LITTLE PONY

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't know about ponys.. know a little about horses.. And I like horses, tend to recognize people, love horse treats. But eat a crapload of food, and the inevitable have to clean up shibby. But cool animals..

My cousin has 12 horses so I know a little bit about it....here are a few inescapable facts...

Say goodbye to any free time you have left...
Put a good Veternarian on your Christmas gift list...
Forget ever taking a vacation again...
Pony's are like Lays potatoe chips...Theres no such thing as having just ONE...

What your looking at are miniture horses by the way and not ponys...
Same problems and none of the advantages of bieng able to be ridden. although they can pull a small cart.

I have a thought!!1 How about how much is that tag :)

Suggestions for raising :) I would ask about shots and papers :) To start :)

LOL>.."Pony's are like Lays potatoe chips...Theres no such thing as having just ONE.." I just read this on a Breeders website..LOL...

Yes, it's a miniature I'm looking for not a pony. Never knew the difference till now. So what's the care like for the miniature. Can they be kept in suitable size back yard. What are the do's and dont's..

How much more difference would the shots be compared with a dog or cat? I mean it's the size of medium size dog? or am I mistaken.

What I meant was if the Pony had them or not :) Sorry :)

Also I found a cool thing in my above post :)

They CAN be kept in a nice sized yard however MOST municipalities won't allow it...they can only be kept under the same restrictions as horses and there is usually a minimum acrage for each horse...

Care really isn't all THAT bad in and of itself but I can't stress enough just how unrelenting it is...you don't get days off...it's not like putting off a water change or letting a filter servace go. Takes a specially dedicated person not to lose it after a few months...

Most garbage collection agencys wont pick up horse crap either so you have that to deal with as well.

Just read this on a site;

How much Vet care do miniature horses require?

Vet care for a horse is comparable to that of a dog. Yearly immunizations are required, and bi-monthly de-worming is required to keep the miniature horse healthy and protected from disease. A de-wormer (such as Ivermectin) can be administrated orally by the owner. The mini horse also needs a farrier to trim their hooves every six to eight weeks.
