The land of the pine
In my baby bowfins feces. A bunch have died and I have to try and save the rest quick? I'm putting Epsom salt in the tank and doing lots of water changes. What are they and how do I treat them?

I thought they wEre callamanus worms so I looked them up but they don't look like them. They don't really even look like worms too much, just red stringy loooong feces. I don't really want to use any parasite medicine because these are very sensitive fish. My head is spinning!!! The deaths may have been ammonia related but I don't know! The water params are fine now because of the water changes I've been doing. I didnt test the water before I started doing changes though. I don't want to just leave parasites in there if it is parasites but I don't want to treat something that dosent have problems.:1zhelp:

Just keep the water very clean and monitor the situation. There is very little else I can advise at this point after reading your post.

I suppose there could always be the request for pics? Not that anyone is going to be too excited to examine pictures of fish feces, but it might help shed some light on your issue.
