I finished up added some mods to my skimmer this past weekend: I added a 1" Mazzei nozzle instead of the 3/4" and I bought a neck/flange and a collection cup from Jeff at Lifereef and by the way he makes top notch equipment. The skimmer originally was 46" tall and then I saw a used 17" extention for a Lifereef for sale so I bought it and made a flange to fit mine that would except Lifereef skimmer parts. For a couple of days it was skimming real good but yesterday when I came home the foam was trying to push the lid up and I didnt see all that much skimmate. The water level is where it should be so I dont understand what the problem is. I did use a different kind of gasket at the bottom of the fractionating chamber but I think its some kind of vinyl not silicone that from what i have read will mess the skimming process up, so any comments will be welcome.
