Little starfish?

we have a small 6g salt set up for my nephew, this morning my mom woke me up to show me a starfish. The little guy is about the width of a finger nail, all white, the center of it is very round and it has longer stringy legs. I am curious to what it is and if it is bad? The little thing can move fairly fast for being a starfish.
