little white hairs (parasites) on my poly ????

my polys have little white hair like parasites? I havant a clue wot they are i dont no if there deadly, wot causes it, how to get rid of it any help wuold be great

Skin flukes, which are highly specific to polypterus, which means they won't spread to other fish in your tank, but they are deadly to polypterus.

I always use jungle labs 'parasite clear', works within hours.

Don't treat teh bichir in a separate tank, leave him where he is and treat that tank to be sure you are destroying all the parasites.

Can anyone please come up with a draft on this particular skin fluke? Maybe Andri Pogo, beblondie or Cohazard can as the three have quite a lot of experiences on this. It would be a good idea to get plenty of details of this and file it in the Freshwater Disease Guide for reference. Please PM me the draft so I can add it up there.
