so i noticed my istlanum male was looking ill so i moved him to a hospital tank and now i come home 36 hours later and now there are worms everywhere. they are about the size of a pin and white or tan and wiggle in the water column. he looks a little better and i am asuming the worms are from him as the tank was clean before he entered it. what is his problem and how do i fix it any help is great i have never encountered this before. could any of the other fish in the reg tank be affected

do you know if its internal or external, do the worms float and stay near the top?? I know tiny white worms that do that are Planaria Worms.

Ne who if you need info on how to treat that its here:

Ne ways I am not sure if thats it, I couldnt find to much in it but its the only thing I found while searching for white worms and white worms with cichlids, never had that problem before, but I am sure someone on here will know what it is. Good Luck.

ash is spot on i would think. sounds like you are overfeeding and this could also pollute the water making your fish sick

The tank was clean until you put in the cichlid them when it defacated you had small worms? These are probably nematodes and might have infected your other fish. They can cause intestinal blockages. Treat with a medicated anti-parasite food like the one Jungle makes.
