my brother got these little worms swimming in his tank.... how do i kill them all :D

If they are planeria then they really aren't a bad thing from what I understand. They help keep the tank clean and are no cause for concern.

Howdy,

You can kill them with copper - but it will also wipe out your snails, shrimps, basically all invertebrates. It also harms scale-less fish.

Try improved tank maintenance, reduced feeding and better biofiltration to control the population.

Hope that helps,

but if they are not planaria it could be an intestinal worm wich may be big trouble may not. i just recently lost a big male nandopsis istlanum. they could be fine for a long time but if they get stressed it could cause illness there are medicines that get rid of them but i had no luck try a little salt cure

Can you give us a better description, size, color, shape, the way they move, and whether they are free swimming or cling to the glass would all help. Also, are they on the fish?

tiny tiny... white to no color

they swim to the surface and then cling to theglass... not on fish

i do weekly waterchanges of 25-50 % on a 50 Gal tank

Sounds like what I have too. I have been doing weekly gravel cleaning with 30%water change and their numbers are getting smaller and fish more active too so i am probably going to keep this up!

sounds like planaria gold gouramis will eat them .. They will never go away , But the less dirty your tank the less they multiply,, They eat excess detrius and they are helpful little critters .. The problem =planaria The solution = keep there numbers low by weekly gravel vacs (while taking out and replacing 10 to 20 percent of the water) or bi-weekly gravel vacs if necessary, feed less, and ignore them . Chances are people viewing your tanks are not going to see them so unless they are in every square inch by the hundreds,,, your straight ;]
