i was looking at my 20 today and i noticed little white things all over bouncing all over which im assuming are baby ghost shrimp, but then i also noticed some little tiny kinda clear worms in my gravel and im kinda at a loss at what i should do, or if i should do anything, and to what they are. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, do not panic buddy. You are okay. These bastards are called Planaria; they are no harm. They are caused because there is too much organic matter in your tank; try more water changes and less feeding. Good luck.

I had the exact same problem. Thanks alot for the reasuring info Nabbig.

i also had those (still do probably)
they are not a problem and a bit of a forage source for the convicts i keep in the tank

well i hope thats all it is

these are very common. almost every fishkeepers has had them at some point. as mentioned above more water changes with gravel vac (vac is essential) and cut back a little on feeding. they are usually a good sign you are over feeding.

wouldn't something like praziquantel rid the tank of them?

i assume thats some sort of treatment. if so then no need to put extra chemicals in the tank when its not needed. planaria are easily removed by reducing feeding and a more thorough gravel vac schedule.

Planaria are creepy. You're overfeeding and not gravel cleaning enough.

I had them a few times when I had gravel substrate. Since switching to sand I've never seen them since.
