ok ive been reading abunch of threads stating that they notice little whit worms in there tanks and what not!

w4ell i was just curious as to how they get in the tank!

like i was feeding my fish some crickets in my little grow out and i noticed when my fish bit into the cricket that little white things came out of it!
probably not the cause but i was just wondering because i cant figure out how you get the worms!

because i have never fed my fish feeder goldfish or any fish for that matter only feeder crickets!

so my question is how do those little worms get inside home aqauriums?

thanks in advanced.

Hey. i don't know too much, but i think it is because they infected the crickets or something?

ok cool
thats what i was thinking
:D

oh and welcome to MFK man
:D

Hello, thanks for the welcome, this looks like a great site.

:nilly: The little white worms that are common in aquariums are planaria. Its from over feeding...heavy detrius build up...blah..blah..

Do a google search and you'll find a lot of info on it.

yeah yeah
i got all that part

just curious as to how they actually get into the tanks!!

like are they in the actual food or what??

probably from freeze dried blood worms or tubifex worms that are alive or freeze dried. I remember when tubifex worms were THE live food for fish keeping; but then it seemed to be faded out because they carry alot of parasites. Yeah, i hear that freeze drying supposed to kill pathogens but some of those parasites' eggs are supposed to be able to survive some real harsh conditions.

Driftwood, the intestines of your fish, foods, substrate, your filters, there are so many ways they can be introduced.....the real question is how to get rid of them!! ;)
