OK so I know many people feed their P-bass live and many people get them on pellets/non-live foods. Mine (6x 4-5in, 1x 2in) are currently eating Hikari Cichlid Gold and Hikari Food Sticks as a staple and once or twice a week get frozen blood worms or frozen krill. Once they get larger I plan to get them on market shrimp and other types of frozen fish. 5 are in a 75gal that gets a WC of 75% once a week, sometimes twice a week, and the other two are in a quarantine tank. They have a 180gal almost up and ready for them, and eventually will go into a 300gal or possibly a 700-800gal if I can figure out how to get a 4ft wide tank through a 3ft wide door. Dont know if I will keep all of them, I might keep 3 or 4 of them. Sorry for rambling, but my question is what are the difference in appearance between feeding live and feeding non-live? I can assume growth rate could be one, coloring, possibly, aggression, mating, etc, but will it be significant in the end? My biggest concern is color of the fish. Im not too concerned about getting them as big as possible in the shortest amount of time, I didnt do that with my Rott and they actually want your Rott to grow slowly so the bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, ect develop relatively in a similar fashion. So what are you guys/gurls thoughts on the eventual appearance of the P-bass?
