i have been raising my two bichirs for a couple months now in my community tank I originally introduced them to act as population control fish for my mollies so they keep the fry numbers down. I also feed them sinking shrimp pellets and ghost shrimps is this ok? They are thriving id like to think that they have a varied enough diet but I don’t know. Discuss

How big is the tank? Honestly I think polys (especially dels) would get big enough to eat many "community" fish, although mollies would be safe.

I don't feed my polys live foods apart from mosquito larvae and such. But yours sound cool

Yes varied diet is excellent just don't start feeding goldfish or feeder guppies from lfs. They will consume any fry small enough to fit in their mouths including poly fry.

It's a 55 and before any one starts this is their growing tank they will be moved to a larger one when they get bigger
That's cool. I keep my sens in a 70 at the momet :)

Thanks Bud I just wish they weren't such slow growers I've been thinking about triops(tadpole shrimp?) They do love when the mollies give birth though when I introduced Loki, my platinum Senegal, I had 55 baby mollies and within two weeks it was down to 17
