i keep hearing different "opinions" about whats better for aquarium fish wether its live feeders or pellets...i thought that live feeders would be better since thats what they eat in the wild but some say they have no nutrietional value. please explain

I use both to feed my fish. feeders though pose the risk of bringing parasites into your tank and most feeders are not feed a correctly balanced diet which in turn prevents the fish that eats them from getting a nutritionally sound meal. Also most people use goldfish and guppies as feeders and you don't see many of them in the wild.

both guppies and goldfish can be found in the wild, but much like dogs and cats they've been domesticated.. reading the sticky should clear alot of the misinformation up about live foods, as well as processed foods. I personally believe in diversity is key. So I feed anything and everything that is acceptably health as food to my fish, including live and pellets. It's always about quality of the food. And some species do better on live, others on pellets. Find out the nutritional needs of your fish, and the nutritonal content of the foods you feed them.
