live feeding

hi all
this is my first fred and im sorry for my reaction but thought i needed to voice my opinions ,

i have been brousing through this great site and i found the video gallery,
then looking through a lot of them i came across one video where they fed 3 or 4 oscars a LIVE!!! pinky:swear: ... i watched in horror has the pinky was played with till it drown then it was torn apart by the oscars,
i cant believe this happens.

dont get me wrong im all for giving animals what they need, (i have a snake which i feed frozen mice),
if the fish was going to engulf the pinky the second it was in the water that would have been different, it would have had the least amount of stress to the poor thing,
the matter was they played with it till it drown , they could have just put in a thawed out one that had been properly kill for feeding.

there are a lot of people who do agree with you, and unfortunately others who dont. Its usually a never ending argument when an issue like this rears its ugly head, because it only takes 1 person to side with "nature". I stick with the argument that while it does happen in nature, its not because someone throws something in a glass box.

I have seen worse though:(

the amount of people that feed live stuff to live stuff is unbelievable. it all goes around in circles. over here we dont have a strong feeder country at all, but in a lot of other places it is common to feed frogs, other fish, mice, crickets, and everything inbetween to each other. im undecided on it to be honest
 
I feed allot of live.. I have yet to feed mammals. But i have no problem with it. To each his own. My fish eat Frogs, worms, fish.. I'm sure that they would eat a pinky, But I think it's funner to watch something that has a very slim chance of getting away, than to watch something that has no chance. So i'll probably stick to frogs that jump back out of the mouths of my fish, worms and fish.. Well maybe some crickets grasshoppers and such..

But if i were to feed a pinky live it would be wehn i knew my Gar was going to hammer it in a few seconds.. Hope i didn't hurt your feel bads. But i've seen worse.... baby kittens for example ..

Oh and i also get great satisfaction out of my africans and their ten minutes of picking goldfish their same size apart... DOn't hate me please..

I would only feed a helpless mammal to a fish if I knew it would be dead before it knew what hit it. Like Tongue33 said. Otherwise i dont like seeing any animal suffer. Even a stupid pinky.

But i dont think that all live feeding is bad. I think people just need to have some kind of conscience when doing it and not be cruel. Then its ok in my book.

I forget where but, but i believe it was starving P's.

And This guy that used to live by us when i was little used newborns for his Big Mouth bass occasionally.So they were like pinkies But larger..He was basically trying to show off I was young like 7 or 8 so it was cool then. And we lived in a pretty ghetto neihberhood,so entertainment was mostly like that all around. he also fed them to his Ball python. Rabbits and all kinds of stuff went to that fierce looking snake!!

His Bass was pretty big.
