my lfs is now selling live food such as Live Bloodworm, Glassworm, Tubifex, RIver shrimp, Brine shrimp and Daphina.do you think their is much difference between frozen food and live...

imo, if you can get your hands on good healthy live food, take it over frozen. I tend to feed mine less Live food only because it provokes things and aggression builds up..

Frozen is usually safer than live. Most concerning is the live tubifex. How are they culturing these? Other live foods mentioned, should be fine but not the tubifex worms. Tubifex worms often serve as intermediate hosts for myxosporidian parasites and these parasites are far too resistant to various meds.

I'm a big user of live foods, against what alot of others subscribe to, especially in breeding situations. I'd prefer the live over frozen as I'm sure most fish would, except maybe lazy ones lol

But, like Lupin said, I'd shy away from the tubifex. They tend to hang out in some less that savory places.

There were however, tubifex present at the site I started my Pond/ramshorn snail cultures from but those original snails are at least 6 generations removed from my culture.
