hey guys, iv'e been wondering are there any live foods out there that an average person can breed and treat there fish with once in a while, if so name it and describe how to breed and stuff cuz i don't know of any lol

I've been trying to get a breeding pair of jewels for that purpose, but no luck so far. Did try to raise convicts and jewels, but that didn't work out. The 2 female jewels killed the convicts.

Guppies as a whole are ridiculously prolific. They put rabbits to shame. Female fancy guppies get large for such a tiny fish if they're kept virgin till they're finished growing. Female common guppies get about as large as the female fancies that are frequently found in petstore tanks (slightly bigger than fancy males). Male commons don't get very big at all, maybe 1/2 - 3/4 the size of the females... I've never been able to breed cons, but the guppies won't quit! lol The males often try to breed pregnant females, just waiting till they give birth and become fertile again.

Marbled (self cloning) crayfish. They will breed in any conditions. You only need one, and they won't eat the babies. I've been using them for the past few years and they're great.

Convicts and jewel cichlids reproduce a lot, but it takes them forever to reach a good size for feeding. If you want to do fish, guppies are a better option.

convicts are really easy. and in my experience daphia is pretty easy just get a container and and a piece of lettuce and place ona windowsill afer a few days you'll have a daphnia culture
