I tryed live plants in my all male tank once before and didnt have ajy problems i had was my lighting wasnt enough and they died they was jungle vals. Now that i have a t5 fixture with 2x 10kk and 2x blue bulb i was wondering if that would grow vals

Another thing you could do is buy 3 times the amount of Val you want in the tank, and put one third in the tank, and the rest in a special high wattage plant growing tank. When the Val looks bad, swap it put for a fresh batch, and regrow the old one. Then you have a never ending supply of healthy plants with the added bonus of an easy way to add more cover of necessary without the trip to a LFS. In an all male tank, if aggression is a problem it's good to have things on hand, as thins could escalate fast
