is it possible to have live plants in with an under gravel filter and how would you do it because i always take out my filter when i change all my water.

Don't use them in planted aquaria. Plants like fine soil at their roots and UGF's will pull the fine clay below the filter plate. I remember someone once saying, "undergravel filters grow beautiful roots and poor plants." The roots love to be able to respire, but many nutrient ions will be oxydized to unavailable forms with all that well-oxygenated water flowing through the substrate, and the plants will suffer.
Generally people will tell you that it would be a bad idea to grow plants in a tank with an under gravel filter.

On another note why do you take out your filter when changing water? Wouldn’t that kill the whole bacteria colony?

I'm going to take this one step further and ask why you are still running a UGF? Aquaclears are very inexpensive and do an infinitely better job in terms of filtration.

yeah i also dun reccomend UGF
