I have a stream that runs through all over where I live (bedford), and where I can get to it by my house me and my friend have caught bluegill in it..have 2 in my 75 w/ a gt actually...there's also plants in the water. I'm wondering instead of buying live plants if i could just take them out of the stream and wash them to get bacteria off then put them in my tank? thanks for anything...

Try some with your wild caughts or an empty tank.Id keep them for a while before putting them in with any tropicals

The plants from the stream should be ok as long as it's not polluted and you wash them well but for the price it's not a bad idea to just buy them. . . you can fully plant a 75g tank for about 20 bucks at the right pet shop and you know they're safe. If you're confident that the stream is clean though then go for it. . . shouldn't hurt. JMHO
