I know it might be a stupid question to some but has anyone ever used old dried out saltwater rocks in a freshwater set up????

I'm asking cause I've got some left from a couple years ago!!!
I really like the look of the rock but I'm gone have to go with freshwater till my money is right for the saltwater!!!!

Also Is anyone using Red Flint sand??
I've been rinsing this stuff for days and its still turning the water brown!!!!
Any tips on how to get it clean???
I just threw those feeders in to start the cycling!!!!!!!

And last, what do you guys think would be good to keep in a 110 tall?????

Just like andyroo said. Should be fine except for fish that don't like hard water like discus and such.

I think it would be fine in there, depends on what you want to keep in it tho. Let it cycle and test your water parameters and base your stock on what your water parameters are.. Hopefully you will have the budget to go salt again soon.

like already said.. it's limestone pretty much.. so if you're planning on keeping African lake cichilds you'll be fine. gen community or soft water fish you're best off removeing it. Looks like it's been dried and cleaned well so i doubt you'll have much issue with it but I'de still watch your perameters incase anything is deeply imbeddded yet and will cause an ammonia spike.

I plan on useing some old liverock I have as well soon ins etting up an african tank. I've done this in the past and not had issues with it.
