i had some live rock in my old tank, being a noob at that time(before i discovered mfk) i thought it was dead (it actually only had a bunch of cyano on it) so i took it out and let it dry out outside, i already thought it was dead.

Now i have a new tank and want to use that rock for some supporting base rock work on the bottom. I boiled the now long gone rock and it started to really stink, this is a sign of dead rock.

My question is should i re inhabit the rock, or would it be safe to just put in my tank and let it re inhabit with time?

Ya, will i need to add something in there like LR debris to jump start it, or should it be able to cure on its own?

as porus as Live rock is, you should be just fine. If you want to add some form of waste into the vat your curing the rock in thats fine, but id suspect you will see an increase in ammonia in no time. Follow the normal routine.
