I know this may sound dumb but I figured i'd ask. Today I was watching my eels in my tank and I noticed that I have some new tankmates. Which I kind of stumped on how it happend. What I can tell is I have some Anemones, and some other types of coral life. Heres the real question is how did this happen I have had the rock for three months. I don't have a real bright light source. The tank does sit right next to out sliding glass window and the sun rises on that side of the tank and I have a power jet right behind the rock. The other thing is I even noticing some other life forms as well. So I guess my question how could this happen if my tank really isnt set up to have coral life. I try to post some pictures so that maybe I could find out what I have now.

You probably have some Aiptasia spp. (Glass) anemones that 'hitchhiked' with the rock. They are very hardy, and are usually considered pests, as they sting coral and tend to multiply like crazy if there are excess nutrients available.

Other than that, welcome to the joy of marine aquariums - the biodiversity is incredible from live rock and other organisms, and you never know what you'll see. I once had thousands of sponges suddenly appear after 3 or 4 years!

Life is too cool ;)

x2 and even if your tank isn't set up for coral just let it ride and see if it flourishes or not... if its aptasia tho you will want to get rid of it... if its not aptasia (do a Google search if your not sure what aptasia is) just see if it grows in your tank and if it does then cool... and if not, well, you didn't have to pay for it so your not out anything. its a win-sort of win situation :D

the first is a hramless type of nonphotosynthetic anemone i can get a exact name for you tomarrow most likly. the second i dont see anything unless it those little red antler like corals in the pic. those are harmless but hurt when theypuncture you. also nonphotosyntetic/ filter feeding. last one could be a glss anemone/ aptasia or it could be a prdatory polychaete worm. but need better photo.

Seen a new little creature today. I can't seem to get a picture of it cause it just moves so fast when I ry to shine my surefire flashlight on it but it look like a centipede but clear, and it runs in to a hole in a coral when I try to get a picture of it. I'd almost guess its Hermodice carunculata. I have seen it on the floor of the tank moving around. Any clues?
