Live stock tubs

just curious how many of you keep your monster fish in livestock tubs when they are pups or fry? i saw a large lfs doing it once .
by monsters i am referring to gars, arrowannas or sw rays.
does it work well.

kept all kinds in this 300 gal, Gymnogeophagus spawned in it, Tilapia grew out, many others.

must be careful of temp fluctuations if kept outside.

something id like to try this summer. would like to just be able to throw all my fry in a large amount of water and have them grow.
