live tilapia

I'm thinking about buying a live small tilapia from asian market and feed it to my big guy...you think that'll be safe?

I wouldn't do it. Its much safer to just buy some cheap koi from craigslist

quarantine the tilapia and treat it for parasites and disease then it should be fine

do I need to treat it? it's the same ones they sell for human consumption...

i would, atleast when people eat them theyve been cooked killing off any possible "bugs".

that's true...maybe I'll just scratch that idea, don't feel like treating a large feeder in my 55g.

ya. Those asian MARKETS don't take care of their fishes anyways. Half of them seem like they're dying.

yeah I would think it was fine if treated, but you cook food that comes from the market but no when you feed it to a P.
