Livebearer egg development question :P

Hi, i was wondering about my swordtail female that has visible eggs inside her and some of the eggs are more developed and i checked her today and i cant see the matured eggs any more, only the unfertile or less developed.

So my question is; Can livebearers give birth to fry that are ready inside them and keep the "unready" eggs until later when ready?

Ok here's the thing.
I just went through my fish book and found that some strains of swordtails have been artificially inseminated (injecting sperm into females with a needle, like a growth hormone) so many times they no longer give birth naturally. So if you have this strain I'm afraid theirs absolutely no way to breed them without human intervention. Then again you may have a fussy female / male. Or my books full of ****. ROFL.
