I have a 90g tank with a 7-8" Green Texas (which must be the wimpiest of all time. It just basically hides in his hidey hole/cave area most of the time), a trio of Silver Dollars (about as big as my hand), a large common pleco (about a foot) and a pair of African jewel cichlids (about 3-4").

All but the pleco hide most of the day. any way to get more activity in the tank? Most of the time it just looks empty. I have plenty of rock, driftwood and a some long-limbed fake plants. Could it be too much? Seems the SDs just hide behind the plants in the back, I haven't seen any overt aggression from the jewels, they take a run at the SDs on occasion, but the SD are pretty damn quick, and they get out of the way when the Texas does come out.

Any tankmates I can add to get some activity going? (and I don't mean activity because suddenly everyone is hunting or fighting! :grinno:)

i think your bioload is maxed out.maybe check that your water parameters are within range.i use timers for lights so they get used to those hours its on.check your temperature, and all other equipment for damage, they can give you stray voltage, you can install a ground probe

Yeah, I need to get rid of that damn pleco! He's a mess.

But lights are on timers, been the same for years now. All equipment is fine. Just did a water change over the weekend, but haven't actually checked the parameters. I'll check those.
