I am interested in this species. The one I am attracted to looks exactly like the one in the picture below. It looks like a male with such an aggressive or dominating look all over it. And what a big head and mouth it has. I would be happy if Livingstoni Cichlid owners could share their experience as well as any info on them. I have been checking online though, but would love to hear from experienced MFK owners. And if you can post pictures, that would be great.:)

Thank you for your time!

Mine are awesome. Not overly aggressive but grow very fast. They eat basically anything and are very personable. Mine eat mainly HBH pellets, krill, mysis shrimp and spirulina.

Beautiful Livingstoni Cichlid! thanks a lot for replying and sharing a picture. Are they messy eaters? Eating and spitting and eating and spitting?

i never kept them. too big for me. plus i went tanganyikin

Temperment depends on the fish. I had one that was fine for a few weeks then began chasing all the tankmates into hiding. Got ride of it and tried another a few months later. Started out OK then began to go and again got really aggressive and chased everthing. I have fusco. that is about 4" and I just recently added another livingstoni at about 1.5". He seems fine now, but it could be from my othe Nimbo. keeping him in line.
