Lizard / Reptil for 400g aquarium!

Tired of cleaning fish filters, converting to reptiles.

Tank is 7' x 3' x 3'

I have an acrylic top so i don't plan on using heat lamps, only heat rocks or pads.

Looking for more tropical than desert.

Possibly a climbing lizard to take advantage of 3' tank height

Also want to house more than one lizard so preferably a non aggressive lizard that gets along with members of its species.

What you guys think?
 
massive crested gecko breeding communtiy and them small green tree snakes, ive kept both together before it was epic... maybe some anoles if they play nice aswell?
 
no heat rocks. They fail and cause burns. How much are you willing to spend? how experienced are you? Are you ok with having an animal that is good with other members of its species, but not you? you need to narrow it down...

Agreed! Heat rocks are the worst things you can put in there because they WILL burn your animal. Stick with the under tank heater on a thermostat. Personally, I'd probably go with a couple water dragons, but I think that size might be a little small for 2 since they get a decent size.

Is the tank acrylic too? I hope not. The nails are going to really do some damage to it. I would do a small tortoise on the bottom with a tree python and a bunch of small lizards running around as well

no.
to name one thing wrong with that, the tree python would eat the lizards. Dont just say a bunch of animals you think are cool should go in a tank together.

Also snakes are solitary and don't like being around other snakes, or animals that are too small or too big to eat. They will stress them out.

It would be very helpful if you gave us more info about the tank setup and your experience with reptiles.

Agreed with the no of keeping different species together.

Could do a nice big, heavily LIVE planted, waterfalled, moss encrusted poison dart frog enclosure?

Sounds cool. Crested Geckos look nice id be worried about mixing with snakes though

Considering how much i've spend on fish already, im willing to spend a decent penny to make it nice.
So NO heat rocks.
I don't have much experience with reptiles except bearded dragons.
I do want a tank with several members of the same species (possibly other species).
They do not have to okay with me because the tank is 36" tall I wouldn't be able to catch them anyway.

Originally wanted chameleons but read they are territorial and need more air flow than a glass tank can provide.

Water dragons seem like a good idea they only get 2-3 feet with tails, they can climb the driftwood and make use of 3' tank height

It is glass. i kept turtles before, kinda over cleaning filters and doing water changes.

Tank set up will have two awesome pieces of driftwood and i plan on getting some live plants.
Experience with reptiles is only a bearded dragon but I have no problem doing research
