Hey guys, i'm interested to learn more about these so called "lizardfish" in the trade, especially the origin of these fish....

I think some species have been acclimatised to freshwater to sell in the trade.....Unless someone can tell me different? Are these fish found in FW naturally elswhere in the world?

The link below is from the rare fish collection by fugupuff

I think the freshwater lizardfish are a different species. They look similar but they are still different if you look closely

Are you saying the fish you caught and the fish in all my links are different species? If you are, your right but i already know that :)

If your saying the FW version in fugupuff's link is different to the SW version in my links, They may look slightly different but they have identical scientific names.

I'd love for someone to shed some light on this....

Another example is the "bumble bee grouper", People keep them in FW but i'm sure their collected from The Great Barrier Reef in Australia....

Several fish species can be acclimated to freshwater, take the snowflake moray for example, but they dont do very good
