ı got a 9" guy from the LFS and hes stıll settlıng ın for the last few days and ıve been tryıng to get hım to eat but ı havent seen hım eat.

ı know hes new and stıll settlıng ın but ıs there any foods ı can try he wıll be unable to resıst ? ıve trıed cockle and smelt wıth no luck. ı know cıchlıds are lıke thıs at fırst but thıs ıs my fırst Lıma.

All catfish are like it tbh, cant take a couple of weeks.

Make sure lights are out, and its late evening/night time to start with.

Mine are a bit bigger than yours, but eat prawn, sinking pellets, floating cichlid pellets, well tbh pretty much anything that enters the tank now they gobble up.

Give it a good week at least to settle in then try some bloodworms or an earthworm, it might take awhile but as long as the water params are good it will start eating,,,,,,then look out.

bloodworms, if he doesnt actively seek them out I would be suspect.

why don't your "i"'s have dots? sorry off topic

i dont have a lima but i would suggest frozen shrimp, earthworms and frozen silversides
sorry to be off topic but what size tank is he gonna be in?

Just give him some time to settle in. And try feeding with the lights off. Limas can be skittish try adding some floating plants for your lima to hide in. They will hover in a vertical posistion quite cool.

sorry for the no dots on the I's my keyboard is turkish.
the i with no dot is located in the same place as the i on the english keyboard.
i have floating plants and the catfish is eating now :D thanks for the info guys!
