my 5in lmb is acting strange. random swimming then stops and stays in one spot on the tank floor for bout 5min then he swims and looks as if he's trying to scratch his gills on the tank floor, also breathing heavily

any solution to why hes doin this?

yes large water changes will help lower and remove your ammonia.

Water changes will only be a temporary solution, you need to find out what is causing the ammonia (if that is actually the problem....you really need to get a test kit and check nitrite, nitrate, and ammonia levels).

Looking at your tank setup, a 30 gallon is WAY too small for a largemouth, your going to need an upgrade soon or your going to run into more problems!

my bass is fine now, some mold like substance flew outta his gills. i did a 50% water change jux incase it was somin to do wit the water or ect.

Definately......Largemouth Bass need at least a 200g. when fully grown, and good filtration.

I say dont keep fish you can house properly. either get a bigger tank or get smaller fish. do some research before buying fish. not to be rude but i sense a lack or care for the fishes needs and comport here over your entertainment purposes.

I am geting rid of my LMB because my 120g is not big enough... just say'n!
