I just caught a baby lmb yesterday with a cast net, he was swimming
just fine before I caught him. But since I've had him in a 30 gal grow out tank he seems to have trouble suspending or rising off the bottom. It trys
hard but he can't seem to get off the bottom. Is this temporary?

Sounds like swim bladder issues.

Thats what I thought but, before I caught him he was swimming in the lake perfectly. So I was just wondering if this is temporay. If not, can he survive with this issue??

Give him a floating plant to hind under. For the frist week or so, LMB tends to salk for a while. Give him time to adjust to his new home. throw some guppys in there to coax him out from the bottom.

He ate one guppy, which is a very good sign, and now he looks a little better than before and continues to explore his tank along the bottom. He reminds me of a darter now. I found him perched the same way on the driftwood in his tank.

a got 2 largemouth the other day with a cast net from a bait pond. each are about 3-4 inches and they ate right away they do not salk at all. Im sorry dude but somethings probably wrong. you could get a new one.
