LMB colors?

I was looking at John and Onion's Pbass. Should my large mouth have some coloration?(stripes)

no lmb are greenish brown/bronze with a black bars that run horizontally on their lateral line but sometimes they dont have it

Thanks, that's the thing. I've seen alot of LMB's, hell, ate lots. My tank buddy is just green. Happy though. He has more personality than the Oscars.

I've had him for a couple months. The guy that raised him till then said he'd "flare up" every now and then. I have'nt seen it. He's almost 11"

I've noticed that with my largemouth as well. Whenever he seems to be in a playful mood or getting ready to ambush his prey his colors will appear instantly. here is a nice side profile pic of him with his colors.

sunlight also plays a part in the coloration .. that is why in the spring just as the bass decides to work their way shallow ..they tend to posses less color and lateral line distinction ...... its because they have spent the winter in deeper water with less direct sunlight ..... how this would effect them in a tank environment .. i do not know .. haven't kept one yet ....but defiantly plan to sooner or later.
