Caught a frog at the lake today. My bass was acquired as a fry, probably has never eaten a frog before. He has taken a couple swipes and missed. We'll see what happens. The frog is a pretty good escape artist. I lost my grip and had to chase it around the living room. So far it has been a survivor.

hehe cute! my pbass doesnt eat or doesnt know if frogs are food, he doesnt eat them too! anyway i was wandering y is this in the fish and disease section?

LOL. wurms fist action as a Mod will be to move his own tread:ROFL:

Crongratz wurm.

Has you bass ever ate anything live from the surface, maybe insects? I'm sure he is still alitttle cautious but eventually his appietite will get the best of him(or actually the frog).

It's in the fish disease and health forum, which includes nutrition. I was hoping to get some posts about others who feed frogs as food.

I thought that they would be. I was a little concerned about disease transmission, but I got the bass from the lake where I got the frog, so you would think it would be OK. I regularly feed minnows from that lake as well.

How about toads? They are easy for me to catch. I regularly toss them in the water to watch the bass eat them, but are they bad for fish?

well toads... thats a different story because almost if not all toads secretes toxins in their skin as part of their defense mechanism that can be toxic to fishes.
