Bass is doing well been feeding him Hikarai Cichlid Staple medium and creek chubs when I can catch them in my back yard. He continues to grow crazy to think how small he was when he was captured last summer (hes was around 3 inches) hes now 7 or 8. Hes in a 65 gallon with a 90 gallon rated filter with lots of plants, recently had a big die off or lily pads but I hope new lights I just set up (4x39w 10,000k t5ho) and the new substrate I recently ordered will help grow out the plants. I plan on giving the bass to a friend with a 100 gallon sometime during the summer. I want to get more plants and get a red fin pickerel and a black crappie both around 3-4 inches and keep them for good do you think my tank will be adequate for those fish? Would getting a 3 inch black bullhead cat fish on top of the pickerel and crappie be to much?

Im sorry but depending on the footprint you would need at least a 250g minimum for a Largemouth bass, but a 400g to be comfortable and give him good swimming room.

I have a similar setup. I caught a fingerling LMB in my minnow trap, and it is now about 10" long. At first I was feeding it shrimp pellets. But recently, I've been feeding it live nightcrawlers. We have a 75 gallon tank. We also had a channel cat with it, but they did not get along so I returned the channel cat to our lake. I assume they did not get along due to the tank size, and they are both territorial. Great pics. Good luck.
