I'm not sure if he hit his eye on a filter intake, or maybe this is a disease, but when I came home a couple of days ago, my bass was sitting in the corner, not acting his usual, happy, hungry self, and now one of his eyes looks like the two attached pics.

It looks like he may have injured himself, but if that's caused some some treatable disease, I would be most appreciate for any feedback or advice.

His other eye is fine.

Raise up the temp a little bit to maybe like 78-80 F and add some aquarium salt to the tank and let him be. They heal faster than you think.... My Channel Cat had a tail injury once and I didnt know how it happened but by the 4th day it went away ....

His eye seems to be getting worse. More swollen, more opaque. He knows something ain't right, because he keeps his head in the corner so that nobody can approach him from his bad eye side.

Temperature is 79-80, without a heater.

I added some Pimafix and Melafix, but that's nothing special since I put in some periodically, because feeders might bring something in with them.

What about a salt water bath? I've done that with a parasite ridden bluegill before, and he healed up very nicely (doing surgery on a live fish is an experience, but it had to be done). Anyone have any experience with something like this?

Here's what his eye looks like today:

This is getting progressively worse by the day. His eye is swelling, and I've no idea how to deal with this. He's not feeding, and still just sitting in the corner.

If he doesn't feed, he's not going to live.

Man..That looks awful hope he gets better :)

nasty it looks like an infection. id do surgery and cut his eye off if he can survive w/ out it? b/c he stands no chance w/ that thing spreading all over his body. so id do surgery and put him in a recovery tank
