I want to get some Syncrossus berdmorei for my loach tank. I've kept a single individual before, and have seen their aggression. I read that they won't be as bad if kept in groups. Does anyone have exp. keeping these with Clowns? I have a large colony of various loaches with numerous hiding spots, and was wondering if these would work.

They have a nasty reputation... I'm pretty sure they will attack the clowns, but check out the Loach species sticky at the top of the page for more info.

Do a search in this section. I know I've seen a thread about this issue with syncrossus before, but not 100% sure it was bardmorei...

Mule,

I just bought 8 Syncrossus Berdmori in early December. From the research I did on the Loaches Online forums there are several people who keep this species(and other Syncrossus species) with Clowns. The larger the clowns and the more clowns you have the better off you'll be. Also don't forget, lots of hiding places and lots of space.

I'm planning on moving my 8 into a 125 in the near future with a group of 4-5 inch Arulius barbs. I don't plan to mix mine with any "community" loaches but I believe it can be done under the right conditions.
