Loach ID...LFS

There were 2 Loaches, about 4-5'' long in an LFS. One wasn't doing to good. They were dark dusky gray with an orange tail and orange-tinged dorsal. It was labeled as "Botia Loach." Gee, thanks lfs, could not have figured THAT out on my own!!

Yep. Yasuhikotakia modesta. Have nine of these nasty loaches. I'm uploading pics hopefully this week of them.

I wish I could find some again! I've kicked myself for a year for not keeping the 4 I had. They're definitely rough & tough enough to hold their own in about any Cichlid tank. Some of them are even too tough for some SA/CA Cichlids. Dang, I wish I'd have kept mine :-/

My alpha modesta suffered deep graze marks on his caudal peduncle after an hour long skirmish with two others.

I had a Modesta successfully defend a wood cave against a Salvini cichlid. That's tough.

are they compatible with clowns? i've seen a few of those around and some tiger's and was thinking of getting some of each to go in with the shoal.
