Hello all. I need an ID for these loaches. I have 4 of the larger ones and two of the smaller. The large where bought from small scale LFS who had them labeled "LG Loach" and nothing more. Im assuming the small ones are common old Botia almorhae and that the large are either Botia udomritthiruji or (which seems more likely) Botia histrionica. Any help would be great.

The Botia udomritthiruji is not easy to come by especially as the source remains elusive. They fetch very high price and none of your loaches are like that so you can cross that out.

Your large loaches are Botia kubotai. The smallest is Botia almorhae.

kubotai? Are you sure on that? I ask because kubotai are a very common loach in this area. Infact ive had them in the past. All the fish ive seen have been much more... well "spotty" then barred. Even when smaller then the fish i have.

Yep. I've had kubs before. I can clearly recognize the patterns and golden hue in them. Not really difficult for me to distinguish the commonly available loaches.

The 2 togeather in the pic are yoyo loaches for sure. its spelled on the side of the fish. the loach in the back looks like a queen boatia both of which are there common names.
