LOACH NEEDS HELP ASAP

i just bought an adult polka dot loach (not the same one from my pic i just posted in the pic forum) from a different store then the other one...

as soon as i was about to release it...i noticed heavy breathing. i thought it was stressed. i come back and its body is somewhat rigid and is barely moving and laying on its side breathing hard. i put it near the filter for a while for more water flow to its gills but no improvement. all my other loaches are fine (3 polka dots 10 skunks 1 clown)

Could be pH, nitrite, stress, temperature, etc. Need more info.

i honestly think it is shock. the store i got this from had about 8-10 adult polka dots in a freaking 15g. the water was also dirty. i should of acclimated more slowly but i saw it was also freaking out in the bag. ****. its still alive though.

i put it in a container with no lid so it keeps sand out of its gills and a fake plastic plant to way the container down and shelter it from other fish. its large and bushy (the plant) and it keeps it right side up. its condition seems to slightly improved

happy to report that the loach made full recovery.

Glad to hear it. It was probably pH shock. If the tanks were dirty it probably was in a pH of 4.5-5.
