I have a 55 gallon tall tank 37" x 15" x24" I have a 5"-6" tilapia butokoferie (1) 2" Fire mouth (2) 2" convicts (1) 1" Panda Cory (1) albino cory and (1) common pleco. My question is can i get 3-4 clown loachs for this tank and keep them safely for a few months? I am saving for a 125g tank atm and should have enough saved by May =). My lfs is moving to a new a location in a week and they are having a sale on all there fish and i want to pick up some loaches. What are thoughts?

if the cory's survived those monsters of yours theres a good chance that the loaches would provided theres lots of caves for them to hide
they are bottom dwellers so just make sure they have a lot of place to hide

I have many rocks with holes and slate pcs with lots of cover.

How big are the loaches?

the loaches in the store are 1" - 1 1/2" long, the only fish that I see would be a problem in my tank would be the Buttokoferi, but he pays little attention to the cory's and plecco I have in there now, or any of the other fish for that matter. And this tank is only temporary till I get my 125g.

You'll prob be fine.. I have loaches with african cichlids and they do fine for themselves. Just make sure their are lots of hiding spots.

The loaches will be fine but probably not very active with all of those aggressive fish in the tank.

I would not suggest keeping clowns at that size with those fish. Isolate the Tilapia buttickoferi before it snaps and demolishes everyone else.
