How many clown loaches would you recommend for this size tank. I currently have 10 angels, 5 clown loaches and 3 Geophagus tapajos. Eventually I will add 2 more Geophagus but was wondering about the loaches?

I have a 125, I've had 5clown loaches in it for 1-2 years now. 5 is not enough. Wish I'd put 11 or 13 from the start.

Loaches tend to do better in larger groups as stated above, although I'm not sure a 125 is necessarily big enough to house 10-15 loaches for life.

I love a mob of clown loaches. I have 10 in a 4x2x2 and this is my minimum group size.

What are the dimensions of your tank? I usually recommend a minimum group of 7 clowns. I would be careful with the geos. They can become aggressive over floor space and kill your clowns although you probably have enough room in that size tank. Just something to be aware of.

I was able to score another 4" clown to get my school up to 6 which is where I wanted it. I have 1 male and 2 female Geo's and they seem to keep to themselves without any aggression.

thats a very nice tank you got there.
you should quarantine your new loaches before you put them in your tank.
most LFS fish have ich in all their tanks and if you bring ich home with you, you are going to loose most if not all your loaches and angels.

i have 15 clown loaches (from 4" to 7") in my 150g planted tank
one 12" bala shark and a few tetras

more fish means more water changes and better filtration
i have a FX5 and a 1,200 GPH sump pump on my tank
