(hypothetical situation as of right now... don't even have the tank up yet)

Anyone do it?

By aggressive... I am talking GT, JD, Convict, Salvini... that range. Not RD, Jag, Dovii, Trimac ect range.

I was thinking maybe modestas, skunks, or yoyos (75 gallon tank)

is it/can it be done? loaches are cooler than common catfish you see with cichlids IMO... jw

You no want clown loaches you want HOTPOCKETS!!

ahahhaa

no should be fine

as long as the jd's or gt's are enormously bigger than the loaches, than you should be fine.

yoyos could work try clowns or another large loach but should work as long as nobay can eat each other

I was under the impression that a school of 5 clowns would get way to big for a 75 gallon (no possibility for upgrade).

That is why I am thinking of not using skunks though... they don't get very big.

Yes a 75 gallon is too small for 5 Clowns. Skunk loaches are known to be agressive but only get about 4 inches so you might be running the risk of them becoming a snack. My suggestion would be a couple of Tiger loaches. They are agressive and territorial but as long as you have a few hiding places they would probably do the best in an agressive tank. They can get up to 10 inches or so but I've never seen one bigger than 8 inches.

yah that is a little small try yoyos tigers are a little big

I agree!

I've successfully kept a gorup of yoyos with a flowerhorn, large oscars, convicts, and now with jaguars.. they're pretty sly and slick and can take care of themselves.

just make sure you a shoal of not less than 5.

Also they're easier to keep than clowns due to pH range compatible with aggressive cichlids and smaller size.
