Has anyone ever kept Clown Loaches with Exodon paradoxus and if so, what were the results.

I have a species tank with 15 Exodons and another with Clown Loaches, a Bala Shark and some Siamese Algae Eaters. The latter two species would have to be relocated since they have scales. My only experience with Exodon and other species is: 1 Exodon in a large tank of mean African Cichlids (worked out fine) and my current batch with a Bullhead Catfish which needed a temporary home. They did not bother the (scale-less) Bullhead even when it was out in the open at feeding time.

It seems a waste to have one tank with all surface fish and another will mostly bottom dwellers. But the Clowns are pretty nice and I don't want them chewed up either.

Any feedback?

I wouldn't keep Clowns and exodons together. The Exodons are opportunistic and will chew the clowns apart at the first sign of weakness.

I would think not! Today at my lfs i saw a school of about 20 exodons tear through frozen beef heart like it was nothing! Cool fish but probably not a good mix

Thanks for the info, think I'll keep the fish separate. The Exodons have reached critical mass, that is they are below the number where they (generally) leave each other alone and are starting to pick each other off. I added some driftwood to the tank and need to add a lot more plants!

Fish stores never order enough. There are usually 6 or less and there is usually one that doesn't have chewed fins.

aloha i have a 125 gallon with 100 bucktooths,80 loaches(18 clowns,6 zebras, & 62 dwarf chain loaches. they do very well together. i also have 15 or so corys with all these fish. i feed every 2 days live food alternating with pellets or hikari freeze dried super red shirmp. and all this with once a week water change @ 3/4 tank.

If you keep the Exodons fed well, it may work. But if you slack on feeding, I see Exos and loaches with missing finnage or worse.
