just looking to find info on my new cray. the lfs called him a orange clawed lobster. he is almost all black with orange on his claw tips, bands on his legs, and tip of his tail. i am starting to wonder if this kind of cray has other needs than other crays its been about 2 weeks and he will not come out of hidding (yes he is still alive)wont eat like most crays. how can i make him more active? water is all good ph7.6 amonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0 temp 72. he is only about 3" long in a 10 gal tank for now.thanks

Hi, I've seen such crays in Singapore. They aren't much different from regular crays eg red-clawed lobster or louisiana crayfish, juz more expensive cos of e nicer colouration. Perhaps u cld give him abit more time to get used to his new home. Keep e lights down and do frequent but small water changes to keep e water quality up. Also try not to let e water get too acidic as it's bad for their shells..

Hi sounds like you have a cherax sp called red tip or orange tip. Google them and take a look at the picture and let us know if that is what you have.
