Lobster?

for years I've been talking about saving one of the lobsters that awaiting their consumption in the tank at Meijer. My sister was trying to talk me into buying a couple of lobsters last night....and I really really wanted to, but, I know for a fact, I can't bring him home to deplorable conditions.....

How much space does 1 lobster require?
Salinity?
Tankmates? I was thinking other inverts, I doubt it though
Food?

The two lobsters even had little barnacles on them. One (the one my sister wanted) was 4.5 # and the other was 4# but it was 9.99/lb!! When I get the pics on my photobucket, I'll post them here.

They will require a cold water tank with a chiller and a good amount of room to roam. if you expect them to grow then you will also need to keep your calcium up.

it is not the best idea, food lobsters don't do very well in tanks.

I kept a lb lobster in a 20g for three months... Then he was dinner. I feed it shrimp every 3 days while I had him. he lived in the bed room, the temp was kept about 68 degrees. Salinity I bounced between 1.015 & 1.022. PH of about 8.0 I plan on keeping the ones I catch next year in my basement... I've started building the tank system for them. I want to have a lobster feast @ the end of dive season for a few Friends.
Heres one I had to let go... he was to big to keep...
