Hey there, Time to ask the expert. Something is wrong with my fish. He doesn't eat much and his mouth seems to be stuck or lock in a open position. I had a similar incident to another fish 5 months ago and his mouth started to rott away. Don't want the same to happen to this guy. Does anybody have any clue what it is and how to treat?

Nevermind...I read several sites and it turns out that his jaw is dislocated and it could be fatal. This sucks...probably got like this from fighting with my kkp. I'm gonna try n press the jaw to close it, lets see if it works.

yah sadly i have had this happen to some of my cichlids. from lip locking. and sadly like an hour after replying to your post one of my geo's mouth is stuck open and im gonna try and see if i can gently get it to close. ill post my results. you should to

Results: hmmm slight movement with jaw for couple minutes but it get's locked out again. Not successful. I guess I'm just gonna wait in couple days to see if he starts eating again. Gluck on your treatment.

well i do believe i was successful. he is eating and his mouth is retracting in all the way, i hope its still good in the morning
