image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I noticed my Australian rainbow fish has recently developed lock jaw.
He twitches his head occasionally and is unable to eat.
I have looked for info on the web on this but not much is out there.
I assume he will not make it, but I wanted to post pics as I have not seen any showing this symptom.

My tank is 92 gal. and has been in constant service for ten years.
Stock load is small and tank is heavily planted.

Peace,
Coyote9

If it is a simple dislocation, you can catch the fish, and gently try to snap the jaw back in place. I have done this before with cichlids. (what have you got to lose if it can't eat)
If it is the bacterial disease duck lips, the jaw will not not move, because the bacteria that cause the disease have caused the jaw to atrophy.
Below is a photo of a cichlid with duck lips.

were you able to massage the jaw back in place? if not it needs to be broken so it can be partially sutured closed for a month (by a vet)
